Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the use of plumbing and heating services provided by BSP plumbing and heating services ltd (“we,” “us,” “our”), a company registered in [England/Wales/Scotland/Northern Ireland], with company registration number 13299382 and registered address at 9a wick road business park, wick road, burnham on crouch, Essex, CM0 8LT . By engaging our services, you (“Client,” “you,” “your”) agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.


1. Services Provided


We provide the following plumbing and heating services:

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of heating systems including boilers, radiators, and underfloor heating.

• Emergency plumbing and heating services.

• Gas-related services (provided only by Gas Safe registered engineers).


Our services will be provided as agreed upon in writing (email or formal contract) between us and the Client.


2. Scheduling and Cancellations


• Scheduling: Appointments will be scheduled based on availability. We will notify you of the time and date for the scheduled work.

• Deposit Refund: For jobs where a 10% deposit has been paid, if the Client cancels the work:

• Cancellations made more than 30 days before the scheduled work: The deposit is refundable.

• Cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled work: The deposit is non-refundable.

• Failure to Provide Access: If the Client is unable to provide access to the property at the scheduled time, a rescheduling fee may apply.


3. Pricing and Payment


• Estimates: We will provide an estimate for the work to be performed. Any changes to the scope of work or costs will be communicated and agreed upon in writing before proceeding with additional work.

• Quotes: All quotes provided by BSP plumbing and heating services ltd are valid for 30 days from the date issued. After 30 days, the quote may be subject to review and may change based on material costs, labor rates, or other factors.

• Payment Terms: Payment is due within 7 working days from the invoice date unless otherwise agreed. We accept payment via Cash, Bank Transfer.

• Late Payment: If payment is not received within 7 working days of the invoice date, we reserve the right to charge interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, plus any reasonable costs incurred to recover the debt.

• Deposit Requirement: For any jobs where the total cost exceeds £1,000, a 10% deposit is required to confirm the booking and secure your appointment. The deposit is deducted from the final balance due upon completion of the work.

       •       Materials, all materials supplied by BSP plumbing and heating services Ltd are the property of BSP plumbing and heating services Ltd until the invoice for the job is paid in full. 

• Third-Party Collection: If payment is not received within 7 working days of the invoice date, the outstanding balance will be passed to a third-party debt collection agency for recovery. Any fees or charges incurred by the collection agency, including but not limited to their administrative fees and legal costs, will be added to the total amount owed by the Client and will be payable by the Client in full.


4. Liability


• Workmanship: We guarantee that all work will be carried out to a professional standard in compliance with UK regulations and safety standards. Any defects in workmanship found within 12 months of completion will be rectified free of charge, provided the issue is not due to misuse, neglect, or damage by the Client.

• Limitation of Liability: Our liability for any loss, damage, or injury caused during the provision of our services is limited to the total cost of the service provided, except where the loss, damage, or injury is caused by negligence or fraud.


Upgrading from Gravity to Pressurised Systems


• When upgrading an existing system from a gravity-fed system to a pressurised system (e.g., an unvented hot water cylinder), we cannot be held liable for any issues arising from this change, including but not limited to burst or split pipes, fittings, or other related damage. This includes any issues that may arise after the installation due to the increased pressure in the system.


Powerflushing Heating Pipework


• During the process of powerflushing heating pipework, we will take reasonable care to protect the system. However, we cannot accept responsibility for any damage to the pipework, including burst or split pipes, that may occur during or after the powerflushing process. We strongly recommend that the system is inspected for any potential weaknesses prior to performing a powerflush.


5. Client Responsibilities


• Access and Safety: The Client is responsible for providing reasonable access to the work area and ensuring the area is safe for our technicians to work. Any unsafe conditions must be reported before work commences.

• Accurate Information: The Client must provide all relevant and accurate information regarding the property, plumbing, and heating systems. Failure to do so may result in delays or additional costs.


6. Permits and Regulations


It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure any necessary permits or approvals are obtained for the work to be done, particularly where local council approval is required for installation or alterations. We will provide guidance on this but do not take responsibility for obtaining these permits unless specifically agreed.


7. Emergency Services


Emergency plumbing and heating services may incur additional fees. These will be communicated and agreed upon before the commencement of any emergency work.


8. Warranties


• Parts and Materials: Any parts or materials installed during the course of our services may come with a manufacturer’s warranty. We will inform you of the terms of these warranties where applicable.

• Workmanship Warranty: We provide a 12-month warranty on all plumbing and heating work carried out, excluding issues caused by misuse, accidental damage, or normal wear and tear. Warranty will not be upheld if payment is not made in full. 


9. Data Protection


We are committed to protecting your privacy. Any personal data provided will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For more information on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.


10. Termination


We reserve the right to terminate this Agreement at any time if the Client breaches these Terms and Conditions, or if payment is not received within the agreed period. The Client may terminate this Agreement by providing written notice, subject to payment for any work completed up to that point.


11. Dispute Resolution


In the event of any dispute arising from the services we provide, we encourage informal resolution through communication. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute will be referred to mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, the dispute may be resolved through the courts in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, depending on the Client’s location.


12. Force Majeure


We shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performance of our obligations under this Agreement due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or government action.


13. Changes to Terms & Conditions


We reserve the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be notified to the Client, and the updated version will apply to all services provided after the date of the change.


14. Governing Law


These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to this Agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, depending on the Client’s location.
